Monday, Governor Kim Reynolds lifted some restrictions, while keeping others in place against the spread of the 2019 novel coronavirus.

The new proclamation allows for some restrictions to be lifted in 77 of Iowa’s 99 counties, including Greene and Guthrie counties, starting 5am Friday, May 1st. Restaurants, fitness centers, libraries and other retail businesses will be allowed to open at 50-percent capacity. Additionally, restrictions will be lifted for church and other religious gatherings as long as the gatherings adhere to the social distance guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). 

The new restrictions for the 77 counties are to run through May 15th. As for the other 22 counties, which includes Dallas County, the current restrictions are to remain in place until May 15th. As for casinos, theaters, senior citizen centers and adult daycare centers, museums, skating parks and rinks, playgrounds, campgrounds, swimming pools and salons will remain closed through May 15th.
