Guthrie County-area fire crews responded to a structure fire on the north side of Menlo Saturday afternoon.
According to Guthrie County Dispatch, Stuart, Menlo and Casey fire departments, along with the Stuart Police Department responded to the fire at 12:14pm at 3317 Rose Avenue. According to the Stuart Fire Department, the Menlo Fire Department was first on the scene and effectively knocked down the fire to an apparent outbuilding on the property. Several items were salvaged from the structure and no one was hurt.
Information regarding the extent of the damage and the cause of the fire is unknown at this time. According to the Guthrie County Assessor’s webpage, the property is owned by Mike Bittner. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
