The Guthrie County Regional Airport Authority Board approved several items at their April meeting.

As construction has begun this month on the runway reconstruction project, the Board approved a tax exemption certificate and authorizing the issuance of $3,850,000 in revenue bonds for the project. The Board also approved an application to receive up to $20,000 in aid through the federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act. Due to COVID-19 the Board met over the phone, and the last few months have seen a couple new Board members with the appointment of Vicki Gubser and Beverly Wild. Board Chair Marshall Burgess says fellow members Lance Levis and Matt Perry also joined the Board after plans for the runway reconstruction began, “They’ve actually blended in really well and Vicky took over the secretary job and of course Lance is pretty new, I’m really the only original one when we started talking about it that’s on the Board. Lance is our treasurer and he’s a retired lawyer and so is Beverly Wild so it’s kind of good to have some legal heads on there that know a little bit more about things than a common person like me does.”

The Board also approved an engagement letter for auditing services from Feldmann and Company CPA’s, P.C., a contingency of acquiring local support for the new runway.
