The Stuart Public Library cannot open its doors to celebrate National Library Week this year, but they’re doing all they can to spread messages of the inspiration libraries can provide online.

As Governor Kim Reynolds ordered all libraries to be closed through April 30th because of COVID-19, the Stuart Library is restricted to providing services over the phone and through their website. They haven’t remained quiet on social media though, as the library has constantly been creating interactive posts to share their love of books, authors, and the many services libraries provide to rural communities. Library Director Lisa Sherman says she and her Board of Trustees are going to take every measure they can to open back up wisely with everyone’s health and safety in mind. Sherman gives these words of encouragement, “Stay safe, wash your hands, call me, I’m more than happy to talk to anyone. So I miss all of our patrons from birth to, well I think the oldest I’m not going to say.”
