The Greene County Medical Center is now accepting handmade gown donations during the COVID-19 outbreak.

Following the Iowa Department of Public Health’s announcement of a shortage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) items, which includes masks, gowns and face shields, the medical center has been doing all it can to preserve those it has. However, additional PPE items can be donated, as medical center staff have been directed to wear protective equipment. Instructions for how to make the gowns can be found below.

Donations of the gowns, as well as cloth handmade masks, can be dropped off between 1 and 3pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays on the north side of the medical center at the Materials Management delivery door. Donors can also ask for a “Giving in Kind” form to make their donation tax-deductible.
