A Scranton man was recently sentenced to probation for a February incident, along with violating his probation on a previous conviction.
According to court documents, 19-year-old Nicholas Weber pled guilty to a lesser charge of a serious misdemeanor for possession of marijuana as an accommodation offense. He had all but ten days of a one year jail sentence suspended and was placed on probation for two years. Weber was ordered to have his probation served consecutively with two other charges. The charge stems from an incident on February 1st. During a traffic stop, a Jefferson Police Officer arrested Weber and charged him with a felony for possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and a misdemeanor for possession of alcohol by an underage person.
Weber also violated his probation, due to the previous February incident. Court documents show Weber was serving two years of probation for an October 2018 incident, where he was convicted of two aggravated misdemeanors for burglary. Weber was ordered to have his probation revoked and extend his two year probation sentence to October of 2021. Additionally, Weber was to serve these probation sentences consecutively with a first offense for possession of marijuana misdemeanor conviction, where he was also placed on two years of probation.
Weber was ordered to pay over $1,000 in fines, court costs, court-appointed attorney fees, and surcharges.
