Today we honor those who work as assistants to executive teams and secretarial staff with National Administrative Assistant’s Day.
Greene County Medical Center has two administrative assistants that work closely with the hospital’s executive leadership team: Jessica Peckumn and Tori Jamison. Peckumn reports to the CEO and assists with executive team members on projects and serves as Board of Trustee liaison among other responsibilities. Jamison works with new providers, works on scholarships and reviews policy review meetings. Interim CEO Tracy Warner appreciates the work Peckumn and Jamison do.
“Jessica and Tori are such great assets to the executive team and the whole organization. They play a big role in assisting the executives at the medical center and their work is invaluable. We hope that Jessica and Tori have a great day and know that they are appreciated today on National Administrative Assistant’s Day and everyday.”
As for the Greene County School District, all school buildings are to remain closed for the rest of the year and for Jill Lamoureux, who has worked as a secretary at Greene County Elementary for 12 years, her job has certainly changed. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio her job now consists of supporting teachers to get information out to students, along with monitoring voicemails and checking student information remotely. Lamoureux talks about missing one key element of her job: the kids.
“It is just difficult not to see those little faces that you love so much that you see on a daily basis. We’ve been having weekly staff meetings every Friday through a Zoom meeting, and I’ve got to tell you that is like one of the highlights of my week. I didn’t realize how much I love that interaction between the staff.”
If you know of someone who works as an administrative assistant or an office secretary make sure to celebrate today with them and the jobs they do.
