The last ray of hope to resume the school year in Iowa faded away last Friday. Along with it, went any chance of school-related activities through May, including Sports.

Greene County Activities Director Todd Gordon was asked what the plan was for giving traditional end of school year awards, including Bernie Saggau Award, and Female & Male Ram of the Year Awards. “We’ll get to work on that probably in the next few days figuring out what that’s going to look like. My hope would be that even though we won’t be back in school, that by May 1 or somewhere in that first week of May, maybe the guidelines would allow to get to one of those tiers where maybe we could get to somebody’s house and present them something, one-to-one. We’ll see. If that doesn’t happen, we’ll figure out some way to hand out some of the awards we need to give.”

Gordon added, “It’s like we do and like we preach; we’ll adapt, we’ll overcome, and we’ll figure out how to do it!”
