A survey conducted by Main Street America shows data on the impact of COVID-19 on a Main Street-designated community in the Raccoon Valley Radio listening area.
The results from the City of Greenfield show nine businesses participated. The survey showed that seven of the businesses have suspended storefront operations as a result of the public health emergency, and four of the businesses stated that 1-5 of their employees are at risk of unemployment and/or layoffs. In regards to online sales, one claimed to have that component, but none of the businesses claimed any portion of their revenue comes from online sales. The two biggest concerns voiced was paying this month’s rent or mortgage, and customer traffic.
