Greene County ISU Extension is helping to cater to area youth during these challenging times with COVID-19.

Each Wednesday and Thursday in April, Greene County Extension is delivering Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) To-Go Kits to Greene County and Paton-Churdan students. Last week, about 670 of the kits were taken to the two school districts and handed out with their respective free lunch programs.

Extension 4-H and Youth Coordinator Kayla Willms says each kit has directions and supplies for kids to complete, using STEM resources and knowledge. She adds that the kits are financially sponsored by the Greene County 4-H Young Leaders. She encourages families that receive a kit to post their results and pictures on social media, using the #greenecounty4hstem. The kits are delivered to P-C on Wednesdays and Greene County on Thursdays.

Those that don’t get a free lunch but would like a kit, can stop in the front entrance of the Extension Office in Jefferson any time from 9-11am Monday-Friday.
