The ballots are officially set for the June 2nd primary election, which the Dallas County Auditor’s Office says will be happening regardless of the COVID-19 situation.
To help people vote while following the social distancing guidelines provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Dallas is joining the statewide push by the Secretary of State’s Office to vote by mail. Absentee ballot requests are now being accepted, and Secretary of State Paul Pate has promised to mail the request forms to every registered voter in Iowa. People will have to include which party they would like to vote in when requesting their absentee ballot, which will register them as members of that party.
Races that Dallas County voters in the Raccoon Valley Radio listening area will vote on include: U.S. Senator; U.S. Representative, District 3; State Senator, District 10; State Representative, District 19; State Representative, District 20; Board of Supervisors, District Two; County Auditor; and County Sheriff.
