People and organizations are getting creative when it comes to finding positive ways to impact communities during these uncertain times with COVID-19.

Jefferson Matters: Main Street is encouraging businesses to spread community support through hearts with positive messages on them. The messages include #JtownCares, #JtownSpirit, and #JtownSupport. JMMS Program Director Peg Raney talks about how people should be on the lookout for these messages.

“So we have hearts with those hashtags on them and that are popping up on all the windows around town, around the (downtown) square, wherever. And not to bring people out in droves but if you’re going to go for a walk you might as well look at what’s in the windows and do some window shopping.”

Additionally, Raney encourages people to use sidewalk chalk to create other supportive messages to keep people’s spirit positive.
