tire-streaks

As a temporary Friday community event continues in Jefferson, the local police department is asking for the public’s help to keep it safe.

During the recent “Scoop the Loop” event last Friday, complaints were made to the police department about several black tire marks being made on the downtown square streets. The department is asking for everyone to be respectful of each other and realize that many people in the community have donated their time to making the square look as nice as possible.

The department states that if someone is found to behave in this fashion, it can be considered careless driving and puts people in potential danger. Increased patrol will be occurring during the last few Scoop the Loop events on Friday nights in April, starting around 7pm. Officers will also be enforcing the governor’s public health emergency proclamation of social distancing.
