The Iowa Department of Public Health announced the latest round of positive novel coronavirus 2019 cases in the state, and unveiled a new way for the public to view the latest data.

There were 96 new COVID-19 cases in Iowa as of Wednesday, bringing the statewide total to 1,995. However, the IDPH points out that currently 908 infected Iowans have already recovered, most of whom didn’t require any hospitalization. Among the total cases, 38 have been reported in Dallas County, three in Guthrie, and one each in Greene and Adair counties. There have been no coronavirus-related deaths in the Raccoon Valley Radio listening area since the community spread began.

Elsewhere in Iowa, there have been a total of 53 deaths, including four casualties announced Wednesday. The latest individuals to pass away from virus complications included two individuals between age 61-80 in Allamakee and Johnson counties, and two over age 81 in Clayton and Polk counties. The IDPH also rolled out their new data dashboard this week, which includes the current pandemic statistics in the state, as well as information on symptoms, prevention, and Governor’s proclamations.
