The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn School Board convened Monday evening in regular session.
The meeting started with an update on the voluntary continuous learning plan during the school closure related to COVID-19. Included in the discussion was a review of potential credit and grading changes, specifically at the high school. The action items began with a public hearing on the proposed fiscal year 2021 certified budget. No one from the public made any comments, so the budget was approved as presented, with an $18.55 per $1,000 of taxable value tax levy rate. The Board also approved a budget guarantee resolution. They then approved several items related to the sale of $5.75 million in general obligation bonds for the new elementary building in Adel, which was to UMB Bank.
Next, the Board approved action on COVID-19 pandemic temporary supplemental provisions, and a resolution regarding the pandemic response and emergency suspension of policy. The meeting concluded with an exempt session for negotiation strategy.
