Emergency crews responded to a single-vehicle wreck in Perry Monday morning, which resulted in one person sent to the hospital with unknown injuries.
At just before 10:30 a.m., dispatch received a call for a car that rolled and broke into several pieces on Highway 141 at the parking lot entrance to the Perry Hy-Vee and former ShopKo. When crews arrived, the rear part of the car was wrapped around the traffic light pole on the north side of the road, with the front end and other pieces further west in the ditch. It’s unknown at this time what caused the wreck or the current condition of the driver, though they were taken by Dallas County Emergency Medical Services to the hospital with suspected severe injuries.
The Perry Police Department, Fire Department, and First Responders, as well as the Iowa State Patrol assisted at the scene. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
