Friday, April 10th

12:30am: Julia Follet reported a stray dog near 508 North Elm Street. The officer was unable to get near the stray to capture it.

3:17am: An officer issued (7) Written Warnings for, “Street Sweeping Parking Violations.” City Ordinance prohibits vehicles from being parked in the “Downtown Square” Area on Friday and Mondays from the hours of 0200 hours to 0600 hours. This gives Public Works the ability to sweep the downtown area streets.

10:08am: An 18-year-old female reported Unwanted Contact from a Jefferson Male. She reported receiving unsolicited comments and messages from the male. The officer had knowledge the male has been charged with Stalking in the past involving young females. The female involved works at Sparky’s One Stop and has noticed the male in the business shortly before the messages began. The officer made contact with the male and advised him to end the Unwanted Contact immediately. Sparky’s requested the officer to advise the male he is no longer welcome on their property.

12:05pm: Amanda Huff reported a package from Fed Ex was delivered outside the door of 118 ½ East State Street on April 9 th, 2020. She reported the package had been taken before she could bring it inside. The package contained an order for a $97.00 dollar item she had ordered. The officer is investigating.

3:38pm: A Traffic Stop was performed at 237th Street, near Kirkwood. During a “Consent Search” of the vehicle, the officer located suspected marijuana in the vehicle. The substance was seized for testing. Zachary Allen Smith of Jefferson was cited for, “Driving While Suspended.” Future charges for the driver and passengers are pending lab results.

8:49pm: A caller advised of a Stray Dog in the 600 Block of West Lincoln Way Street. The officer was unable to get close to the animal.

11:04pm: An officer was requested to assist a deputy with a “Domestic Abuse” call at 305 S. 7th Street in Grand Junction. The Sheriff’s Office handled all charges in the matter.

Saturday, April 11th

9:19am: John Ades requested an officer at 216 East State Street. He had located a small box outside the business containing several narcotic related items. The officer gathered the items and is investigating.

12:53pm: Ben Jacobson reported a vehicle parked and blocking his driveway at 200 South Cedar Street. As the officer was attempting to locate the owner, Jacobson called back and advised the vehicle was gone.

1:48pm: A caller reported a male asking customers for money outside of HyVee, located at 106 West Washington Street. The officer identified the male and advised him HyVee wanted him to leave the property.

7:11pm: Oly’s Corner reported a male subject left without paying for fuel. They advised it was accidental but knew his name. The officer contacted the male, who returned and paid the debt.

8:21pm: An officer checked on a 911 Hang Up Call from 305 North Oak Street and learned a child was playing with the phone and all was fine.

11:14pm: A Traffic Stop in the 1300 Block of North Elm Street resulted in the arrest of Julie Diane Mulder, 50 of Jefferson for, “OWI 1st Offense – Serious.”

Sunday, April 12th
