A Dawson man was arrested on felony intimidation charges Saturday night after allegedly firing a gun in his home.

According to the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office, at 11:17 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the 200 block of West 2nd Street in Dawson for a reported domestic incident. The caller was at a different residence when officers made contact. The victim claimed 30-year-old Jacob John Mundt was intoxicated and threatening them and their dog. He allegedly retrieved a .22 caliber Ruger handgun and began firing it up the stairs where the dog was at the time. The animal ran downstairs, and Mundt reportedly fired after it into the kitchen area. The complainant said the suspect went through two magazines, and described it as a “scare show.” Mundt also allegedly grabbed the victim by the neck and threatened them.

When the responding deputy arrived at the scene, the suspect was reportedly visibly intoxicated and claimed to have not done anything. However, the officer found .22 caliber shell casings on the floor and bullet holes consistent with the victim’s story. Mundt was arrested shortly after midnight, and was transported to Dallas County Jail. He is charged with Intimidation – Assault with a dangerous weapon, with intent to injure, provoke fear, or anger, a Class C felony. He is being held on $10,000 bond and a no-contact order has been issued. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
