This is Easter weekend and a holiday that typically brings people together, however Greene County Public Health is encouraging individuals and families to find other ways to connect, due to COVID-19.
Public Health Director Becky Wolf recognizes families wanting to be together for Easter, but social distancing helps to prevent the 2019 novel coronavirus from spreading. She says people who don’t have symptoms of the virus-a fever, dry cough and shortness of breath-can still pass the virus onto others. Instead of gathering together for the holiday in person, Wolf suggests using Skype, Zoom, FaceTime or other electronic means to see loved ones over the holiday.
As of Friday, one positive case of COVID-19 has been confirmed in Greene County and that individual is self-isolating at home. Greene County Public Health continues to work with the Iowa Department of Public Health and other state and local leaders to respond to the ongoing pandemic.
