An event that began last week in Jefferson will continue for the rest of this month.
Coordinator and participant of Scoop the Loop in Jefferson Ellen Ritter says the initial event was held this past Friday night and the downtown square was packed full of vehicles. She says it was an extremely successful event with lots of people shouting hellos, waving and honking from their vehicles. Ritter points out the event will continue each Friday this month starting at 7pm.
However, she stresses the need to keep practicing social and physical distancing.
“Don’t get out of your vehicle because we want everybody to stay as safe as we can. But yeah social distancing is definitely something to be aware of.”
Each Scoop the Loop is free and participants are encouraged to decorate their vehicles, honk at passing vehicles and enjoy a positive environment responsibly.
