Iowa has surpassed the 1,000 COVID-19 cases mark with the latest additions released by the governor’s office and the Iowa Department of Public Health.
According to the report as of Tuesday, 102 new positive cases of COVID-19 were added to the total number of positive cases statewide, which is 1,048. Of the new cases, the first positive COVID-19 case that was found in Greene County Monday has been officially added to the statewide numbers. Additionally, there was one COVID-19 related death of an elderly adult over 81 years-old from Benton County.
IDPH reports there have been 11,670 negative COVID-19 tests administered as of Tuesday, which includes testing from the State Hygienic Lab and other labs. IDPH adds about 63-percent of the positive COVID-19 cases have not required hospitalization.
