The Greene County Board of Supervisors met Monday in regular session.
During open forum, County Environmental Administrator Chuck Wenthold mentioned two upcoming master matrix reviews for hog confinement operations. One is in Highland Township and the other is in Junction Township. The reviews will take place on April 20th and public hearings will be held on April 27th.
Additionally, County Attorney Thomas Laehn presented proposals to the Board regarding the new law with the Families First Coronavirus Response Act. Laehn also mentioned that all employees are eligible for the benefits of the new federal law, but if COVID-19 continues, employers have the right to exclude “emergency responders” from those benefits. The Board will further review the proposals at a future meeting.
The Board then approved three county reports including the sheriff’s report of fees for January-March of $63,448, auditor’s quarterly passport report from January-March of 48 passports, and the recorder’s report of fees for March of $15,340. Finally, the Board approved the 2021 fiscal year Iowa Department of Transportation report and the five-year construction program as presented, and transferring the second half funds to Secondary Roads from rural funds of $586,147 and $162,500 from local option sales and services tax funds.
