The non-district schedule for AC/GC football will be an uphill battle.
The Chargers will start their season with matchups with Earlham, IKM-Manning, South Central Calhoun, and Interstate-35. The four teams combined went 29-12 last season with three of the four teams qualifying for the playoffs. For reference, their non-district opponents last season went a combined 15-24 last season. The road doesn’t exactly ease up for AC/GC when they get to district play as they’ll face off with state runner-up Van Meter and Panorama who went 8-1 in the regular season last year. This will be the third season under Head Coach Cody Mathewson. The Chargers enjoyed their first winning season last year going 6-3 and were the first team left out of the playoffs.
