The Iowa Department of Public Health released the latest figures on the COVID-19 pandemic Monday, and there were 78 new positive tests around Iowa.
The new cases bring the statewide total to 946, though there have been 10,653 negative tests in the state. Additionally, there were three more coronavirus-related deaths in the state. Two individuals were from Tama County and were over 81-years-old, and the other was between age 61-80 from Linn County. The IDPH emphasizes that 63% of the people who have tested positive for COVID-19 have not required hospitalization.
In addition to the update, Governor Kim Reynolds also announced a proclamation Monday that continues the State Public Health Emergency Declaration and adds several new required closures through April 30th. Things added to the list include: malls; tobacco or vaping stores; toy, gaming, music, instrument, movie, or adult entertainment stores; social and fraternal clubs, including those at golf courses; bingo halls, bowling alleys, pool halls, arcades, and amusement parks; museums, libraries, aquariums, and zoos; race tracks and speedways; roller or ice skating rinks and skate parks; outdoor or indoor playgrounds or children’s play centers; and campgrounds. Also, all unsolicited door-to-door sales are now prohibited.
