Wednesday, March 25th
1:29am: Nelson Amaya reported subjects knocking on his door and running away at 810 West South Street.
1:49am: Michelle Dudley reported a possible Suicidal Juvenile in the 500 Block of Mahlon Street. The officer took the teen to ER for a doctor evaluation.
10:45am: An officer began a Criminal Mischief Investigation at 409 North Oak. Neighbors had entered the yard and caused damage to the sod. Estimated damage is $250.00. The officer continues to investigate.
11:10am: A Traffic Stop at South and Walnut Streets resulted in Nikedda Conklin being cited for, “Excessive Speed.”
1:51pm: Creston PD requested assistance from officers in locating a male subject who had violated a NO Contact Order in their county.
2:14pm: Lee Sheeder reported his neighbor’s dog keeps defecating in his yard at 112 South Walnut Street. The officer spoke to the neighbor about the issues and gave them a time period to become compliant with Animal Ordinances.
3:20pm: An officer unlocked a vehicle in the 500 Block of East Madison Street that had smell children locked inside.
5:17pm: An officer checked on a female after dispatch received (3) 911 Hang Up Calls from her cell phone. The female was fine.
7:20pm:, Officers stood by on a Medical Call with EMS in the 1200 Block of Rushridge Road. No assistance from the officers was needed.
7:40pm:, An officer checked the 300 Block of South Pinet Street after dispatch received a Misdialed 911 Call from the area. All was fine in the area.
9:13pm: Billie Hanson reported a Suspicious Vehicle in the 400 Block of North Oak Street. The officer did not locate the reported vehicle in the area.
9:42pm: Alex Teeples reported she had lost her wallet, possibly on the square. She is monitoring her credit cards for unauthorized usage.
Thursday, March 26th
9:13am: Officers arrested Joshua Jeffery Michael Geigle, 28 of Jefferson, at 607 West Monroe Street on an outstanding Jefferson PD Arrest Warrant. The warrant was for, “Possession of Controlled Substance/Marijuana 1st Offense – Serious.”
10:19am: The UP Railroad reported a deceased dog between the tracks east of Jefferson. The officer contacted a local family that was missing a dog that fit the description given. The family advised it was their missing pet.
3:22pm: Ellen Fogle requested a Welfare Check on her adult son in Jefferson. The officer determined the subject is in a Homeless Shelter in Ames and passed the information back to Fogle.
6:22pm: Jeanette Gerolff reported a capped needle lying on the ground near 107 North Grimmell. The officer removed the needle and properly disposed of it.
8:01pm: An officer mediated a Domestic Argument occurring at 104 East Monroe Street.
10:16pm: A Traffic Stop at 220 th and Grimmell Road resulted in Justin Miller of Jefferson being charged with, “Excessive Speed.”
Friday, March 27th
9:12am: A report came in on Criminal Mischief at 104 North Locust Street. It the past few weeks, several outdoor lights had been damaged. The cost of replacement was $1000.00.
11:29am: Jamie Venteicher spoke with an officer about a Civil Issue occurring with a vehicle.
1:06pm: A Traffic Stop at 220 th and Orchard Ave. resulted in the vehicle being towed by the officer. The officer arranged a ride for the driver and in lieu of an arrest, has requested an Arrest Warrant to be executed at a later time. The officer requested the warrant for Christopher Hollis Christian, 39 of Fort Dodge for, “Driving While Barred – Aggravated and issued a citation for “Fail to Provide Proof of Financial Liability.”
2:08pm: Cindy Rowland requested assistance with her juvenile daughter at 911 North Pinet Street. The juvenile had left on foot but was later located by family members.
Saturday, March 28th
12:50am: An officer located an Open Door with the key in the knob at 407 East Central Ave. The officer secured the business and brought the keys to the LEC to be picked up.
11:30am: Duane Forkner advised he received a letter from Des Moines PD about (2) checks attempted to be cashed in DSM. He believed it to be a scam. The officer contacted DSM PD and learned it is a valid investigation at DSM PD. The information was given to Forkner.
12:40pm: A caller advised a stray dog was in her yard at 609 West Reed Street. She advised the officer the dog belongs to a neighbor. The officer returned the puppy with a Verbal Warning.
5:06pm: Sarah Kilbourn advised she had caught a stray dog at 400 West Russell Street. The officer placed the dog in the Animal Holding Facility.
5:20pm: Jamie Venteicher reported the inside drop box was full at City Hall. The officer fixed the issue.
6:19pm: Bob Mobley spoke with an officer about possible issues with another male. He requested documentation but not to contact the male.
6:34pm: Miranda Schlicht spoke with an officer about Unwanted Contact from a male. The officer learned she lives in Ankeny and advised her to report the issue to her police department there.
Sunday, March 29th
1:35am: Officers assisted EMS with a Medical Call in the 100 Block of East Central Ave.
11:03am: A caller advised of a dog tangled in its cable at 306 West Reed Street. The officer attempted to contact the animal’s owner. The animal was taken inside a short time later.
1:53pm: A caller advised of a four-wheeler being driven on the streets in the 300 Block of South Elm Street. The officer located the parked ATV and spoke to the owner about the issue.
6:04pm: An officer located a dog running freely in the 1600 Block of North Elm Street. The officer contacted the animal’s owner, who advised it had escaped from his building.
7:35pm: A caller advised of a neighbor’s dog in her yard, but it had gone back home. The officer made contact with the animal’s owner and issued a Verbal Warning for the Animal at Large.
7:57pm: Dakota Bishop spoke to an officer about a Civil Issue occurring with a vehicle.
