Several Secondary Roads Department items were approved by the Guthrie County Board of Supervisors this week.

Firstly, the Board approved federal aid agreements with the Iowa Department of Transportation for competitive highway bridge projects on County Road F63 across the Middle River, and near the Menlo exit to Interstate 80. County Engineer Josh Sebern said these projects will be funded through federal and state programs. Sebern says the DOT will administer the projects, and he said $96,000 for the F63 and $314,000 for the Menlo exit projects will be funded federally. The Board then approved a 28E agreement with Cass County for Guthrie County to administer a highway bridge project. Finally, the Board tabled vacating the east-west portion of Roost Lane, following a public hearing held the previous week. After talking with the county attorney Sebern said he was still gathering information, and that he is working on drafting a right-of-way policy for the County to better address situations of undefined roads like Roost Lane.
