The Dallas County Conservation Board is offering an opportunity for the community to get involved with their ongoing Aldo Leopold bench project.
Last year, with the help of local Eagle Scout Josh Nelson, Conservation constructed a number of benches around their nature areas. They were inspired by Leopold, the famed conservationist, and were dedicated during the yearlong celebration of the 70th anniversary of his book, “A Sand County Almanac.” The next phase of the project is to inscribe Leopold quotes into the benches, but Conservation needs some support from the community to make that happen. A sponsorship can be purchased for $40, and the sponsor will choose which quote they’d like to have on their specific bench.
