Greene County and all the other Iowa high school football programs found out their full 2020 schedules earlier this week from the Iowa High School Athletic Association.

Head Coach Caden Duncan talked with Raccoon Valley Radio about the Rams’ schedule. “I really like out schedule. I think we have a good mixture in the four non-district games. Our goal was to find opponents close to Jefferson and all four are, starting with a trip to Perry to continue the “Cowbell Series,” which was important to us. Then we have three straight very solid programs in South Central Calhoun, Southeast Valley, and Kuemper Catholic. District-wise, we expect to compete for that district championship. We have some big games there, but another nice thing is we have five home games this year, and that’s definitely another benefit.”

Activities Director Todd Gordon told Raccoon Valley Radio he like the fact there are five home dates, plus he sees all five as potentially good at the gate. Gordon added he likes the strength and flow of the schedule and thinks the Ratings Percentage Index (RPI) will be improved over the the last two seasons due to strength of schedule.

The Class 2A District 9 schedule has the Rams at home with Atlantic, home with Des Moines Christian, at Red Oak, home with Clarinda, and at Shenandoah.  The regular season is scheduled to begin Aug. 28 and end Oct. 23.
