One Jefferson-based company is helping those who need of internet access to receive those services for free on a temporary basis.
Jefferson Telecom is providing free wireless internet at several locations in the City of Jefferson. The free Wi-Fi hotspots include the Greene County High School parking lot, Greene County Fairgrounds, Milwaukee Depot, the west and east sides of the downtown square and directly outside of the telecom main office. Anyone wanting to access a hotspot must click settings and Wi-Fi on their device, then click on “Jefferson Telecom Wi-Fi.” The user can then complete the “Free Access” field on the login screen, followed by entering an email address and clicking “sign on.”
The services are encouraged for students or families for eLearning purposes and the hotspots are not meant as a means for streaming or entertainment use.
