With the ban of schools in Iowa being in session for at least three more weeks, that also means no sports or other school-related activities. Greene County High School boys’ head track & field coach Chad Morton talked with Raccoon Valley Radio about ways to communicate by using technology. “We have an app that we use through our school that we can contact our athletes as a group, so we do a group chat. We’ll just take it day by day now that our Spring Break is over and see what we can do.”
Morton added they communicate workouts and other information aimed on keeping the athletes active to a point, as well as keeping their heath at the forefront. “We’re able to communicate workouts for those that want to do them. That’s the good thing about what we do is that kids know if they have accessibility to get out and run, or have weights at home to lift, or to do some other activities with body weight or whatever. We can communicate that as well.”
Depending on how long school is out of session, Coach Morton said a video conference with team members would be another possibility.
