The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors met over teleconference Thursday as the courthouse is closed to the public to contain the spread of novel coronavirus 2019.
A new contract for project manager The Samuels Group was presented for the construction phase of the law enforcement center addition project. The Board directed County Attorney Brenna Bird to review the contract, and decided to wait until they receive a contract from architecture firm Shive Hattery to approve both. The Board then approved a leave policy for employees that contract COVID-19. Human Resources Director Pam Lane presented three options to the Board based on policies from other counties, namely Linn. The Board approved the second option which would allow employees to use their vacation, comp, or sick time if they desired.
Later, the Board discussed COVID-19 mitigation steps with Judy Hilgenberg of Guthrie County Abstract Company and some County department heads. The Board decided to not make any changes to their current status of having all County offices closed to the public. They also approved an audit report for fiscal year 2018, and discussed the fiscal year 2021 budget.
