Unemployment rates for the Raccoon Valley Radio-listening area saw an increase to begin 2020.
According to Iowa Workforce Development, Guthrie County saw a 1.2-percent increase in unemployment from December to January to four-percent. Greene and Dallas counties each had 0.3-percent rise in unemployment from December to January to 2.2 and 2.1-percent, respectively. The statewide average also had an increase from 2.7-percent in December to 2.8-percent in January.
The national unemployment rate crept up 0.1-percent from December to January to 3.6-percent.
