Tuesday, March 17th

2:54am: An officer secured the facility after locating an Open Door at 1002 North Cedar Street.

3:13am: An officer secured a contractor’s trailer in the 100 Block of West Lincoln Way Street, after locating the padlock was not locked.

7:26am: Everette Beebe reported two suspicious males in yards in the 200 Block of North Olive Street. As the officer approached the pair, one male fled on foot. The officer gave pursuit and caught the subject in the 400 Block of North Olive Street. Jackson Lee Norton, 28 of Carroll was arrested and charged with, “Trespass – Simple and Interference with Official Acts – Simple.”

12:21pm: June Wood called and advised she was on her way to Boone and realized she may have left her stove on at 1000 West Adams #39. She requested the officer to enter her unlocked apartment and check on the stove. The officer found the stove was off and relayed the info. back to Wood.

2:30pm: A Traffic Stop in the 400 Block of North Olive resulted in Christian Natanael Maldonado of Jefferson being cited for, “Fail to Have a Valid Driver’s License.”

2:42pm: Amanda Rumley requested an officer at 301 West State Street for a Civil Property Issue.

3:38pm: Tim Pound reported a subject in a vacant residence at 304 North Vine Street. The officer made contact with the male and learned he was with a property management company working on the property.

4:50pm: An officer assisted an inmate in the Greene County Jail. He advised his cat was locked in his residence with no one to care for it. He requested to surrender the animal to the city. The officer went to 505 North Grimmell Road and gathered the animal and placed it in the Animal Holding Facility.

7:20pm: A Traffic Stop in the 200 Block of West Head Street resulted in Esteban Gonzalez Plascen of Urbandale being cited for, “Dark Windows and Fail to Have a Valid Driver’s License.” Luis Alberto Mena Martinez of Decatur was also cited for, “Allowing Unauthorized Person to Drive.”

8:14pm: A Traffic Stop near South Elm and Greenewood Road resulted in an arrest. Joshua Troy Smithson, 42 of Ladora was arrested for, “Driving While Barred – Aggravated, Fail to Provide Proof of Financial Liability – Simple, and Improper Registration Plate Lamp – Simple.”

9:46pm: Everette Beebe reported subjects trespassing through yards near Washington and Olive Streets. The officer did not locate anyone in the area.
