In the wake of community spread of novel coronavirus 2019 in Iowa, some organizations and public entities are closed in Guthrie County.
The Mary J. Barnett Memorial Library in Guthrie Center and the Panora and Stuart Public Libraries are all closed until further notice. All Panora library fines are suspended during this closure, and Stuart library fines will be forgiven for March and April. The Guthrie County ISU Extension office has also closed its doors to the public, though staff will still be in the office working and are able to assist the public via phone and email. All programs have been canceled until April 10th, and they hope to reopen to the public on April 6th.
As per Governor Kim Reynolds issuance of a State of Public Health Disaster Emergency on Tuesday, all restaurants and bars are closed to the public except in cases of carry out or delivery. All fitness centers, theaters, casinos and gaming facilities, senior citizen centers, and gatherings of more than 10 people are prohibited at this time, which shall be enforced, according to the Iowa Department of Public Safety.
