All Guthrie County school districts are closed for four weeks as per Governor Kim Reynolds’ and Guthrie County Public Health’s recommendation.

Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center, Panorama, and West Central Valley schools are closed from now until April 13th, and all extracurricular activities and other events scheduled at the districts are cancelled. Panorama students in need of a Chromebook may check one out at the secondary building office, and students and staff can pick up items from school or gym lockers until 3 p.m. Tuesday. Afterwards all buildings and outdoor facilities will be closed and inaccessible. All West Central Valley school buildings and outdoor facilities will be closed and inaccessible after 3 p.m. Tuesday. ACGC schools will be open from 4-6 p.m. Tuesday for students who need to retrieve any belongings.

ACGC is offering free breakfast and lunch grab-and-go meals beginning Tuesday. Families are asked to contact their respective district to let them know if they’d like to receive meals, which will be available for pick-up from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. this Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, on the north side of the high school in Guthrie Center and at the Methodist churches in Adair and Casey. Then this Friday the districts will begin a cycle of giving out meals on Fridays and Tuesdays until school resumes. The backpack program will also continue on Fridays for those who already participate. Panorama and West Central Valley food service staff are working on a system to provide meals to anyone 18 and younger that will be delivered to each of the districts’ communities. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
