novel-coronavirus

A second positive case of 2019 novel coronavirus has been confirmed in Dallas County, according to Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds.

At her latest press conference regarding the COVID-19 outbreak, Reynolds said within the last day there was another positive test in Dallas County, bringing the statewide total to 23. She didn’t say specifically whether this latest individual was also affected by the community spread of the virus, or if it had a specific point of origin. She also didn’t mention the age range of the person, though the initial case was between age 61-80. During the press conference, Reynolds also promised to sign legislation passed that would waive the requirements for missed school days due to coronavirus.

The Governor has recommended school close for at least four weeks, and many area schools have done so. The Centers for Disease Control have also advised any gathering of over 50 people to be cancelled until the threat of the virus has diminished. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
