The Dallas County Conservation Board is the latest organization to be affected by the spread of COVID-19, as they announced Monday the remainder of their spring programming has been cancelled.
That includes a trio of events that were scheduled for this weekend, as well as the pop-up prairie burning program. Conservation Outreach Coordinator Ken Keffer says at this time it’s unclear if any of the activities will be rescheduled to a later date, particularly the burning at the Kuehn Conservation Area as it will need to be done this year, whether in a public event or not. In spite of the programs being cancelled, the offices and facilities at Forest Park Museum in Perry, as well as the public areas around the County, will remain open for the foreseeable future.
Keffer encourages the public to join the Conservation contact list by calling 515-465-3577 for the latest information on if and when the programs will be rescheduled, as well as potential pop-up events.
