A Casey man was recently given a suspended sentence for a drug conviction.
According to court documents, in a plea agreement 33-year-old Thomas Allen Doherty was convicted of possession of methamphetamine third or subsequent offense, and possession of marijuana third or subsequent offense, both class D felonies. Doherty was given a suspended five-year prison sentence and is placed on three years probation for each offense, to be served concurrently. He’s ordered to pay over $1,600 in fines and surcharges, and is found to have reasonable ability to pay for all court costs. All other charges associated with this case have been dismissed with court costs to be paid by Doherty. This case stems from a January 2nd incident in which a Guthrie County Sheriff’s Deputy conducted a traffic stop on his vehicle in Casey, and a search found four meth pipes, a baggy containing meth, raw marijuana, rolling papers, and four partially smoked marijuana joints.
