After a 17-7 season in Class 3A Boys’ Basketball, the 2019-2020 season for the Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs was successful by many standards.  DC-G more than doubled its win total from the previous year, when it went just 8-14.

Improved play on the hardwood didn’t go unnoticed as two Mustangs were named to the All-Substate team for the year.  Point guard, and Head Coach’s son, Luke Rankin and Mustang leading scorer, Cole Glasgow were both honored for their dominance and productivity on the court.

Rankin and Glasgow combined for nearly 30 points per game, or 50% of the Mustang scoring.  Rankin also was a play maker this season, as he worked hard to get his teammates involved on the offensive end.  Rankin’s nearly 4:1 assist to turnover ratio turned heads, as well.  Rankin also presented himself as a thorn in the side opposing guards, averaging over 3 steals per game.

Additionally, Senior Cody Hall was named to the All-District Academic team.  Hall’s success in the classroom also translated to the court.  In his final year of high school eligibility, Hall averaged 6 points per game, and over 3 rebounds.
