A fourth Republican has tossed his hat into the political ring and is running for the open District 24 State Senate seat.

Jesse Green is from Harcourt, where he is a fifth-generation farmer, serves as the secretary of the Webster County Farm Bureau Board, and is involved in the Farm Bureau Ag Leaders program. Green also serves as an officer of the Dayton Rodeo Celebration Committee and is the former Dayton Rodeo Chair. He currently serves as a Bible teacher at the Community Christian School in Fort Dodge, is a member of the Countryside Bible Chapel in Stratford and is currently enrolled in the Emmaus Bible College and Iowa Central Community College.

Green believes agriculture is the backbone of Iowa and will look for opportunities to continue to grow the ag industry and conservation programs. He wants to run for Iowa Senate to continue to grow the state as the best place for current and future generations.

Green is one of four Republicans running for the open senate seat, following the retirement announcement of current Senator Jerry Behn of Boone. Other Republican candidates include Chad Behn of Boone, Todd Rasmussen of Boone and Josh Dyer of Jefferson.
