Paton-Churdan High School has several basketball players receiving Rolling Valley Activities Conference all-conference recognition.
On the girls’ side, junior Danielle Hoyle was named first team all-conference and Hoyle was also named to the Class 1A West Central All-District team. Junior Tessa Steimel was named to the all-conference second team, with junior Chloe Berns and sophomore Carmyn Paup on the honorable mention list.
No P-C boys were on the first all-conference team, but senior Kaleb Fisher was named to the second unit, and junior Connor Brus and sophomore Bradyn Smith were honorable mention selections.
Hoyle, a 6′ 3″ post, averaged 18.3 points per game and shot 62.4% from the floor. She hauled in more than 11 rebounds per game and blocked more than four shots per contest.
Steimel scored at a 9.5 clip and was a 79.2% free throw shooter. She averaged just over two steals and more than four assists per game. Berns averaged 7.6 points and 3.75 rebounds per outing. Paup averaged 6.6 points per game and had 50 of the Rockets’ 142 three-point goals.
Fisher averaged 12.1 points on 40% shooting from the field and 34.3% shooting from three-point range. Brus scored an average of 11.2 points per contest while Smith was at 6.9 points and was the top P-C rebounder at nearly six per game.
Tom Kennedy coached the girls and Bud Fagen was head coach of the boys.
