The public is invited to attend “A Forum on Agriculture and the Economy” in Greenfield tomorrow.
The Successful Communities Speaker Series is hosting this forum at 7 p.m. at the Warren Cultural Center. Speakers include Iowa State University Assistant Economics Professor Dr. Alejandro Plastina, Paul Nelson of Union State Bank in Greenfield, local farmer Rhonda Boehm, and Iowa Public Radio reporter Grant Gerlock. Nelson and Boehm will share their experiences in making a living farming in rural Iowa, Dr. Plastina will reflect on their remarks and include them in a discussion of the larger picture of the U.S. agricultural economy, and a question and answer session will then follow with the audience. Everyone is welcome to join to learn more about the current ag economy and what it means for local communities, the state, and the U.S. Attendees are also encouraged to purchase dinner from the Soulshine Food Truck, which will be parked at the venue beginning at 5 p.m.
