The Woodward-Granger boys varsity basketball team will begin their quest for a State Championship Monday evening, with the opening round of the boys Class 2A tournament.

The Hawks are seeded 8th of eight teams in the bracket, though they enter with a 22-2 record and hope to carry over the momentum from their 49-43 victory over Albia in their substate final February 29th. Woodward-Granger will play top-seeded Boyden-Hull in the first round, a team that carries a 21-3 record to the postseason. The game will start at 8:15 p.m., played at Wells Fargo Arena in downtown Des Moines.
