Two Greene County middle school students were high place winners last weekend at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines at the AAU Youth State Wrestling Tournament.

Eighth grader Michael Rumley won the championship at 189 lbs. for those in seventh or eighth grade. Rumley wrestles for the Greene County Rams.

Seventh grader Brent Dennhardt, a three-time State Champion, placed third this year at 100 lbs. among seventh and eighth graders. Dennhardt wrestles for Seboldt Wrestling Academy.

This is the same tournament McKinley Robbins won in 2019 at 100 lbs. Robbins recently finished his freshman year of high school wrestling for Greene County at 37-2 and was the Class 2A State Tournament runner-up at 106 lbs.
