Residents in Iowa’s 20th House District are invited to meet with their legislator tomorrow, as State Representative Ray Sorensen (R) hosts his second “Spill the Beans” gathering in Perry.
The forum will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Perry Perk Coffee Shop. It’s free and open to the public, and Sorensen will be on hand to engage in a conversation on policy issues and other concerns constituents have. He hosted a similar event on February 14th in Perry, and has been at several locations around the 20th District since. The conversation at the initial meeting focused largely on the proposed one-cent sales tax increase and the programs it would help fund, though attendees also raised a wide range of other concerns.
Sorensen feels it’s important to visit with people throughout the District, particularly in the larger population centers like Perry, in order to assess the issues his constituents would like him to address at the Capital. He’ll also have “Spill the Beans” forums in Greenfield tomorrow morning at 9 a.m., March 7th in Guthrie Center, March 13th in Anita, and April 4th in Panora. District 20 includes all of Guthrie and Adair counties, a portion of Cass County, and northern Dallas County including Perry.
