Wednesday, March 4th
12:25am: During a Traffic Stop in the 100 Block of North Elm Street, the officer smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. During a Probable Cause Search of the vehicle, suspected marijuana was seized for testing. Charges are pending lab results.
11:45am: Officers executed a court order in the 500 Block of South Cedar Street by taking a subject to ER for an Evaluation by a medical doctor.
1:00pm: An officer investigated a reported vehicle accident near Wall and Grimmell Road. Lathen Davis reported he turned from Grimmell Road and was heading westbound on Wall Street in his 1995 Chevrolet K1500. Davis advised a dark SUV turned behind him and struck the rear of his vehicle. He advised the SUV continued around his vehicle and struck a mailbox pole with two mailboxes. The Davis vehicle suffered a reported $200.00 in damages. The mail boxed were also damaged, estimated at $100.00. The other vehicle left the scene. The officer is investigating.
2:18pm: Officers were called to 903 West Adams for an argument between roommates. The officers worked to separate the parties and allow things to cool down. The homeowner was advised to do a Civil Eviction on one party to remove him permanently from the residence.
3:24pm: Marcellous Taylor reported he had received the “Social Security Compromised” Phone Scam Call. He advised he received a message stating to call immediately due to his number being compromised in TX. He advised he would not call the scammers back and did not incur a loss.
7:52pm: An officer went to 707 West Madison Street and arrested Christopher Brian Long, 27 of Jefferson on outstanding Jefferson PD Arrest Warrants for, “Possession of Controlled Substance/marijuana – Serious and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Simple.” The charges stem from test results on seized items during a Traffic Stop on 2/14/2020.
