A new youth event series continues tomorrow at the Mary J. Barnett Memorial Library in Guthrie Center.
Iowa Department of Natural Resources Training Specialist Anne Riordan with Springbrook State Park is hosting her second “Nature Explorers” program for elementary age kids from 3:30-5 p.m. Last month’s event focused on how animals adapt in winter, and as milder weather conditions have arrived in Guthrie County, Riordan will be instructing the group on how to make nature journals. If weather permits they will also go exploring outside near the library where Riordan will share the different ways nature journaling can be done, from sketches to leaf rubbing. This program is free and open to the public, and preregistration is not required.
