When Chris Nelson starts season five heading the boys’ basketball program at Greene County High School, he will have a number of players back with varsity experience. The Rams went 5-17 for the recently completed season and yesterday the coach talked about the seniors.
Today, Nelson talks about those returning with varsity experience. “Bryce Stalder as a sophomore started a lot of games for us and really did a lot of nice things. There were times there may have been some frustrations for himself, but we were really pleased with Bryce. Other sophomores included Jackson Morton and Max Riley. They saw some varsity time and Jackson especially saw the court more late in the season. They’ll both put the time in to help us for next year. The junior class is one that maybe people have looked down upon a bit, but we’ll next Zach Goff, Peyton Kinsey, and Jaxon Warnke to be leaders for us as seniors. Then, we brought up two freshmen in January in Richard Daugherty and Jesse Miller. They both have a lot of upside and with some refinement, will do some really great things for us.”
Greene County has seen the varsity boys’ basketball win total decline in recent seasons, and the players mentioned above will have as a goal to get that number to trend upward starting next season.
