A reminder: the speech teams from Perry and Adel-DeSoto-Minburn are competing at Panorama High School today in the Iowa High School Speech Association’s District Individual Contest.
Perry is being represented by 17 students, performing in 28 different entries, with categories including improv acting, musical theater, radio news, literary program, reviewing, acting, prose, poetry, spontaneous speaking, and storytelling. Meanwhile, ADM has 26 students in 32 entries, including prose, poetry, acting, musical theater, original oratory, public address, literary program, spontaneous speaking, storytelling, after dinner speech, and expository address. Entries that earn “I” ratings today will advance to the state contest, which will be on Saturday, March 14th at Lincoln High School in Council Bluffs. Today’s district contest begins at 8 a.m., and will wrap up at around 6 p.m. The event is open to the public, with a $3 suggested entry fee that will benefit the host school.
