The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors awarded a bid for a roof project at the health services building this week.

Two bidders presented to the Board Tuesday: Darren Reeves of Darren Reeves Construction in Anita and Cory Schafer of Schafer Roofing in Adair. Reeves proposed a TPO membrane for the metal roof, at a price of $43,800 with a 10 year warranty. Schafer presented with GAF roofing manufacturer representative T.J. McKenzie a PVC .060 membrane at a price of $44,130, with a 15 year warranty. The Board approved Schafer’s bid, with an additional $1,500 for a 10 year EverGuard diamond standard warranty. Facilities Manager Brandon Thompson expects the project to be completed by the end of March.

In other items, the Board approved a 9% health insurance premium from the Iowa Governmental Health Care Plan, and approved setting the public hearing date for their proposed property tax levy on March 10th.
